Data scientists are a scarce, expensive resource, and are likely to remain a constraining factor for many organizations as the demand for complex big data analytics continues to grow.

Most leaders only have to look at their own organization to see the rapidly growing demand for people that can perform complex analytics - and those that haven't seen evidence yet have probably got a pent-up demand that has not yet surfaced, but may explode. Given the scarcity and cost of the data scientists and business intelligence professionals that can meet the requirements, what we have actually witnessed is a vicious circle, with increasing demand and resource that is hard to obtain and keep. The inexorable growth of data and new forms of data sources from the Internet of Everything means that the number of questions and consumers far outpace the ability of our producers of insights.

 

The UBIX mission is to drive consumable insights into the enterprise.  Our customers are typically high volume data science shops, often with hundreds of analysts trying to serve multiple business units, or Systems Integrators with the same challenges. They struggle with a set of very common problems:

  • Data science is valuable but difficult to scale
  • Teams are hard to find and expensive to employ
  • The process to produce insights is time consuming
  • Demand for insights outstrips the supply
  • The gap between insight found and action taken is massive 

 

This is not the first time business users have faced such problems, it has been a common pattern throughout recent history.
